🤔 WHAT'S WITH THE LOGO?
Share
It was designed in my head but translated out of gibberish and into the real world by the renowned comic book artist, Mike McKone.
I explained to him that I wanted something with an old, creepy yet established and strong feel. It had to include an iron gate, a circular logo, and a crow.
After a few hours of back and forth, this majestic masterpiece was born. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the process; Creative Team/Business Team meetings aren't always so lucky.
Now, let's delve into the details. The central circular shape that frames the text evokes the style of vintage import stamps, which makes sense as we import internationally. The font also adds to that effect as well.
Why a gate? Quite frankly, I like creepy goth stuff. My dream house would certainly have one. It also just looks cool and provides an interesting juxtaposition to all the adorable pink and cute merch.
And the crow? Crows collect cool shiny things and share them with people they like. We also collect cool shiny things and want to share them with you.
You might also see our gateless/crowless logo used occasionally when only circular logos are permitted. Ah, the world of digital marketing, where one logo simply isn't sufficient.
All in all, I thought it would be a cool-looking design, and thankfully I was right, not without the help of Mike, of course, who skillfully translated my frantic brain bubble into real, legible art.
We hope you like it at least a fraction as much as we do. If you want to see more of Mike McKone's work, check out his LINKS:
